What's New Since Our Last
Visit?
|
I have been working on a new beading kit (not bead
crochet) which will be ready in the next few months. This has been about a three
year development effort. It's my best kit yet. You'll love it! The
beaded flowers shown here are just a small portion of the things you will be able to make
with my Floral Treasures Beading Kit.
The other beaded item is a"fauble". You know what a bauble is. Well,
a "fauble" is a bauble made with fiber. Of course, it is then embellished
with beautiful beads.
My new bead spinners are fantastic. A great time-saving tool and a beautiful
addition to work workspace.
I am thinking about offering matching needle cases, crochet hook cases and knitting needle
cases like the ones shown here. Tell me what you think. Are these items that
you would like for your work area and for your crochet and knitting travel bag?
More about all this later.
But first, the really important stuff - Beadwrangler Workshops at Bead Expo in Maimi and
at Chain Link 2001 in Sacramento. |
|
I will be teaching
a bead crochet workshop at Bead Expo 2001 in Miami. Bead Expo 2001 is the largest
bead exposition in the world. This is the one that is usually held in Santa Fe, New
Mexico. Dates are May 23-27, 2001. To learn more about all of the activities,
visit the Bead Expo website.
To learn more about my workshop, visit Beadwrangler Bead Expo Workshop.
Even if you can't sign up for classes, come visit me at my booth in the
vendor's area. I will be there every day except during the time that I am
teaching the workshop and on Sunday afernoon during the fashion show I am coordinating.
Chain Link 2001 is the national conference of the Crochet Guild of America.
This year it will be held in Sacramento, California. Dates are August 9-12,
2001. For details and to sign up for classes, visit the Crochet
Guild of America website.
I will be teaching
Faubles and Baubles - Crochet & Beading Techniques. Here are a few examples.
To learn more about Faubles & Baubles, check out the updates of Inside Crochet over the next few months.

The new Beadwrangler Bead
Spinner
I love tools. And I love my bead spinner. I searched for about a year to find
someone that would make truly beautiful bead spinners to my specifications. The
search is over and they are now available. You will notice that my bead spinner is a
little shorter, the opening is wider and the bowl is designed to hold more beads.
Also, the bottom of the base is concave which keeps it from moving around.
Check out Tips &
Techniques for tips about stringing beads on a bead spinner for a beading project.
You will find lots more information about uses for your bead spinner in the 8 page
Instruction Booklet that comes with your Beadwrangler Bead Spinner.
 |
| As you know,
the bead spinner requires a curved needle. So, where do we put all those curved
needles? How about a needle case that is big enough to accomodate the curved
needles? Check out these prototypes. One series consists of free-standing
needle cases for your work area. The other series will be long, slender needles
cases to carry in your work bag and that open in the middle so that you can select the
needle easily. If I get enough favorable responses from you, I will get my
woodworker started on them. Let me know what you think. lydia@beadwrangler.com
Special Update to the Update!
Wooden Cases now
available at 7 Echoes! |
|
 |
|
|
| I am also planning on offering matching cases for your crochet
hooks, knitting needles and other tools. These will be as slender as possible so
that they will fit in your carrying case an will open in the middle for easy selection of
items.
|
|
 |
Those
free-standing needle cases also make great flower vases.
I know! Who cares about the vase. What are those bead flowers
in the vase!!!
Those are some of the beaded flowers you will learn how to make in my new
beading kit - Floral Treasures. You will also learn how to add wire as the stems,
how to wrap them and attach to the flowers. All flowers are beaded, no wire in the
flower section themselves, so they are soft and undulating. You will learn how to
make mini leaf people and leaves for embellishment. You will also learn how to make
yummy beaded fringe and three dimensional floral jewelry for small, medium and larger
flowers. This new kit will also feature new patterns and techniques for vines
and ropes which can be added to your floral bouquets or worn as necklaces, bracelets and
lariats. The Instruction Booklet will also contain optional projects for a holiday
tree, a mini vase and a business card holder plus instructions for adding your favorite
designer beads to your bouquets.
New Multi-Use Needles
You
may have noticed that in the large photo at the top on the left hand side there
seems to be some kind of long thick needle.
Here's a close-up. It is a Stole Weaving Needle. It is a fantastic little
tool. I have found so many uses for this little tool, that I wanted to make it
available to everyone. You will find it at my online shop - 7 Echoes in a new
section called Multi-Use Needles.
You will also find two other new items here - the new Soft Touch Beading Needle and the
Big Eye needle. For more information about all three, visit the Needle Information Page that is attached to the Needle Order Page.
New Seed Beads at 7 Echoes
While you
are at 7 Echoes, take a look at the seed bead
collection. I have added lots of new beads in sizes 11/0, 8/0
and 6/0. I will add new beads here every
few weeks. Beautiful new beads are arriving from The Czech Republic every month.
I have added printable pages in my seed bead collection. You can now create
your own Seed Bead Color
Catalog.

Bead Crochet Rope Primer - While participating in
national conferences last summer, I met several people that are new to bead crochet that
are having a problem with hook placement when crocheting in the round to create crochet
ropes. Here is a bead crochet primer to address that problem. My new Bead Crochet Rope Primer describes hook placement in
detail. If you are having problems with your crochet ropes, visit my Lessons section and select the left or right-handed version of the Primer.
New Bugle Rope Workshop
In the Bead Crochet Workshop you will find 6 free

New
needles and new seed beads. And, of course, a
most amazing collection of kits. Most of my kits range from $14.95 to $24.95. Comparable kits
from other sources range from $50.00 to $100.00. And many times those higher priced
kits don't include all of the supplies, detailed instructions for options and complete
patterns for other related projects. And the Beadwrangler is only an email away
when you need assistance. Do I answer my email? Just check the rave reviews on
all the chat rooms. Many people have told me that they learned new techniques that
they have struggled with for years by making the main project in one of my kits. My
goal is to teach techniques. My kits are the best way I have found to do
that. Learn new techniques and create something beautiful at the same time.
Try a Beadwrangler kit. There are over
370 to choose from!

22 Main Street
Check out my new additions at 22 Main Street
including Teresa Barrett - award winning
designer. She is teaching Embellishing a Cloth Figure at Bead Expo 2001 in Miami. You will learn lots of
new bead embellishment techniques and create your own doll at the same time.
